East Lancashire bakery benefits from zero capital expenditure LED lighting

Replacing traditional technology with energy efficient LED lighting from Airis Energy Solutions UK, W H Oddie Ltd were able to realise energy savings of 71%, whilst providing their workforce with a better lit environment in which to work.

A local tradition since 1905, W H Oddie Ltd is a family bakery with over a dozen retail shops around the East Lancashire area. With four generations of the same family in charge, all confectionery is hand finished by skilled local bakers. Their shops offer freshly baked bread, hand crafted confectionery, pies and savouries from the oven, hot soup or cold drinks and a large range of freshly made sandwiches.

Zero Capital Expenditure

As part of an ongoing desire to cut costs and improve their carbon footprint, Oddie’s employed Airis to upgrade to LED lighting in their bakery and head office based in Nelson, Lancashire. They opted for our zero capital expenditure lighting solution, meaning Airis finance the installation and any ongoing maintenace.

Flexible Installation Hours

With no night shifts, Oddie’s traditional bread bakers start at 4am so that the day’s bread is as fresh as possible. Airis worked around the bakery’s busy schedules to ensure the installation did not require any reduction in productivity.
