Background

Lostock Hall Academy is a mixed secondary school located in Lostock Hall in Lancashire. Previously a community school administered by Lancashire County Council, Lostock Hall Community High School converted to academy status on 1 August 2011 and was renamed Lostock Hall Academy.

Always looking for opportunities for savings whilst improving the working conditions of pupils and teachers alike, the school turned to the energy efficiency of their current lighting.

Airis LED Lighting Solution

Airis Energy Solutions were chosen to provide a mixed solution of retrofit and new lighting installations across the entire Academy.

The chosen contract was the Zero Capital Expenditure lease purchase solution, giving the client full control of payback duration and realised savings from the outset.

Lifetime carbon savings: 540 tonnes

Carbon Savings

Working overnight to avoid disruption over a period of two weeks, plus one weekend, Airis installed efficient LED lighting, creating energy savings of 70.65% – which will lead to a lifetime reduction of 540 tonnes of CO2.
